 Remuco 0.7.0 (Server)
Sections: Handhelds, Unix

Added: Mon, Feb 5th 2007 06:15 UTC (1 year, 8 months ago) Updated: Wed, May 14th 2008 17:20 UTC (4 months, 26 days ago)

Screenshot About:
Remuco is a duplex remote control system for Linux media players and mobile devices equipped with Bluetooth or WiFi. With Remuco, you can remotely control your favorite media player. You can switch to the next, previous, or any other media within the current playlist, browse your media library and activate other playlists, rate your media, adjust volume, and more. On the mobile device (the remote control), it displays information about the current media, including cover art.

Release focus: Minor feature enhancements

Changes:
This release can manage remote control of several media players simultaneously. Integration of new media players has been simplified. Support for nested playlists in the media library browser has been added. Support for WiFi equipped mobile devices has been added. The server has been redesigned to be a DBus service. This gives player proxy developers more freedom in how they implement proxies; DBus is the only requirement. The idea of basic player proxies has been added: simple text files that specify shell commands for player interaction.

It is remuco which let me remotely control my favorite music player rhythmbox via my bluetooth enabled Nokia 6280 cellphone on my machine with Fedora Core 6 installed.
